You may have heard of this, and if you’re working in an immersive audio format like Dolby Atmos, you’ve probably heard that there are guidelines for delivering content at a specific loudness target. ADM files have as many as 128 audio channels, so measuring the loudness of a mix that is spread out across that many channels can be challenging. Fortunately, there is a standard method agreed upon in the industry.
